About this artwork
JIMI HENDRIX ROCKS MY ART I met Jimi three times in Stockholm Sweden. Jimi spent a lot of time in Sweden as he had a girlfriend there that later gave him a son named Jimi Sundquist. First time I met Jimi was in 1967 after a jamming gig at Gyllene Cirkeln with the Swedish experimental band Hansson and Karlsson And then again we met two years later at the Concert House the 9th of January 1969. I photographed with my Pentax camera and filmed Hendrix…
with my super 8 film-camera. Both the film-reels and the photos have got lost through the years unfortunately. The last time I met and photographed Jimi was the 31st of August 1970 at the outdoor concert in Tivoli also in Stockholm. I was also at the time in Stockholm an unusual seventeen year old teenager dressed similar to Hendrix himself, in part American Indian jacket, plateau boots and hat. Hendrix liked that look. That would turn out to be the last time we met Jimi Hendrix would die 18 days later. Thomas Dellert
