About this artwork
During my early years as an artist working and living in New York in the early 1980s I moved in the same circle as Jean Michael Basquiat,
Andy Warhol and Keith Haring.
I remember being on one of his very first art openings when he sold everything the first night. Keith went out on the street and invited all the homeless peolöe he could find in for food and drinks. I was impressed. Then we all went to Studio 54 and danced the whole nigh through.… Now the party is over, but I know of personal experience that there are more homeless people in New York today.
