was a Soviet-born ballet dancer and choreographer. Nureyev is regarded by some as the greatest male ballet dancer of his generation. Nureyev was born on a Trans-Siberian train near Irkutsk, Siberia, Soviet Union, to a Tatar family.
Born: March 17, 1938, Irkutsk, Russia Died: January 6, 1993, Levallois-Perret, France
I met Rudy many times both in Stockholm and in his home in London He was the greatest ballet dancer,… and also an actor ( Valentino ) and a very strong character. I have a signed ballet shoe from Rudy as a memory of this part of my life.
Natalia Romanovna Makarova is a Russian prima ballerina and choreographer.
Born: November 21, 1940 (age 82 years). I have met Natalia many times in Stockholm and danced with her in discotheque ( Not Ballet thank god ) and she has bought my art to hang in her home in New York
