About this artwork
Growing up in a small English town I thought it was normal that people got so drunk they couldn't stand but as I have travelled the world and lived in various cultures I now know that this is clearly not the case. When I was much younger I often used to witness inebriated folk drunkenly fighting with the first person they came across. This geometric oil painting portrays a figure swinging a wild punch into nothing but thin air, their body toppling…
from the left hand side to the right hand side of the canvas as their knees crumble beneath their body and they sink to the floor.
