Vast dreams, across past the oceans
They soar.
Slipping through the realms of time like passing birds
In between the fingers
Of illustrious illusions
Which we hesitate to create
For the real danger
That they might come true.
Faces wrinkled like those of giants
in the solace of their messages
We seek
The hopes of beans and beanstalks
For it must take something miraculous
To make this happen.
But here we are again
Broken down by the rivers of… promise
Swelling so ultimately fine
In the distance
While we are treading water somewhere in between.
Flapping around remotely and hopelessly
With sharks, fins
Bristling to the pulses in our feet.
They soar.
