THE BATH IN THE EMERALD FOREST. Fine art print on Hahnemühle paper, hand-painted gold dots. Integrated handwritten text in gold. Original in a series. Signed, stamped. Excerpt: "The Kichwa village of La Liberdad. Far from the main roads, deep in the cloud forest, where the Andes descend to the Amazon basin, the Oriente. I follow the wild rush of a river. Crystal-clear water flows through the emerald foliage. There she bathed. Caressed her little… dog. Without having to ask, she transformed into my model. Flirting with my lens, sometimes with longing, sometimes with self-assured eyes. Like a brief romance... in the monotonous village life. A small escape into the world of her dreams, full of glamour and success in a metropolis. Does she still know my name? Hers means emerald."
Thomas Ruhl works as a painter and photographer with a background in graphic design, photography, and journalism. He masterfully combines black-and-white photography with hand-colored elements, often complemented by literary texts, thereby bringing historical coloring techniques back into contemporary art. His style moves at the intersection of photography, painting, and literature, always aesthetic and critical at the same time. His works tell moving stories of people worldwide and invite the viewer to empathy, humanity, and sensitive reflection. Ruhl has received numerous international awards for his work. His pieces have been presented in group and solo exhibitions and at art fairs. After studying art, financial difficulties initially drove him into advertising. This was followed by the founding of the publishing house Port-Culinaire, which established itself at the top end of the market with a magazine and culinary books. Now he devotes himself exclusively to art.
