In 'River Song', I present a vividly abstracted vision of the Australian landscape, rendering the iconic eucalypts in forms that both rise and disintegrate across three panels. The work employs sweeping gestures, bold black contouring, and a saturated palette of greens, blues, reds, and ochres to evoke the dynamic vitality—and vulnerability—of the Australian bush.
With a visual language that echoes lyrical abstraction while maintaining an unmistakably… Australian sensibility, 'River Song' oscillates between figuration and dissolution. The undulating forms suggest trunks, limbs, rivers, and fire scars, crafting a portrait of survival and transformation. In this triptych, I capture the trembling breath of a landscape forever poised between renewal and rupture.
Here, the land does not sit still—it mutters, twists, bleeds, and bursts anew.
My painting is less a scene than a fevered recollection: a body of earth remembering its own drowning, its own burning, its own endless flowering.
