This sculpture, carved from Wiesental sandstone with its rare coloration, expresses a profound connection between presence and emptiness through its flowing forms and open center. I have captured (and revealed) both strength and gentleness, creating an energy that radiates tranquility and dynamism in any space—indoors or out. The work invites the viewer to gaze through the open space and be touched by a quiet harmony. As is often the case in my work,… the female body is the central focus, depicted in a dual, complementary, and stabilizing position.
"Art is an escape from reality. The only question is: In which direction?" Tilo Tscheulin is a self-taught sculptor who works primarily in stone, occasionally also in metal, wood, and as a painter. His technique combines planned and intuitive approaches, using the material as a medium to explore archaic and futuristic themes, often in large-scale figurative sculptures, heads, or spiral motifs. His works convey a deep fascination with the timeless and primal, inviting the viewer on an emotional journey between past, present, and future. Since 2012, he has run and managed the permanent public exhibition "Kunstprojekt Wasserhüsli" in 79585 Steinen.
