About this artwork

this is the first painting in a small series of still lifes. How did we all suffer from isolation during the times of the pandemic. Today we enjoy our time with family and friends all the more. How did we miss the overflowing tables where people talk, talk, argue and reconcile. The human being is a social being and needs contact. All of this was the reason for Vera to create this series of still lifes. They testify to exactly this long-missing sociability.… The picture captivates with a certain delicacy. Although it can be clearly seen which objects are in the center, there is enough space to make various discoveries on the painting. This small series will be continued in loose succession.
