About this artwork
Berlin in the morning – all my observations. The city half-awake, half-forgotten. I started photographing those moments when everything still feels suspended — before light takes over, when shadows still hold stories. The title Unter Tage came to me instinctively — borrowed from mining, from the world beneath the surface. It’s about what lies hidden, what works invisibly, what keeps everything else standing. the sleepless rhythm. The series is my attempt to dig into those layers: the rawness of the city, the exhaustion and the beauty that comes with it. Unter Tage is both literal and emotional — a portrait of a place that never stops moving, even when it looks still.
