‘Reflections’ is an artwork in a series that I’ve been painting concerning beauty in our every day urban environment. The pavement level perspective captures the reflected light of nearby buildings on a wet man hole cover.
I’ve painted a bokeh effect in the background of this cityscape artwork, the term comes from the Japanese word boke which means ‘blur’ or ‘haze’. Appropriately this painting is based on a Tokyo street scene. Although the bokeh… effect is primarily a photographic technique I’ve replicated it here to accentuate the distorting and abstracting effect it has on the sources of light.
This artwork has a charcoal stained Tasmanian oak shadow frame with the framed dimensions of 64cm (w) x 64cm (h) x 5.5cm (d).
