Dance I

This work inaugurates an experimental series of four paintings dedicated to dance, each measuring 60 × 60 cm. In this body of work, I use movement as the natural language of my characters: a space where emotion is not explained, but rather released through gesture and posture.
The figure twists and expands on the canvas, filling the space with energy and tension, as if movement were the only possible… way to express what is happening within. Dance appears here as a symbol of transformation, vital impulse, and liberation.
Acrylic on canvas, with gestural brushstrokes and intense chromatic contrasts that reinforce the feeling of rhythm and strength.

Tom Roy (Toni Ramírez, Vilanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona, 1976) is a painter of contemporary, direct and physical figurative language.
She trained in business, marketing, market research, and art—an unusual combination that permeates her work. After studying at the Escola d'Art i Disseny in Tarragona, she specialized in contemporary techniques.
Between 2011 and 2014, cancer led him to rethink his life and leave the commercial management of a multinational to dedicate himself completely to painting, until today.
His work features monumental figures, oversized hands and feet, tense bodies, and contorted poses. He uses intense colors, decisive brushstrokes, and unconventional perspectives, currently favoring the use of almost dry oil paint.
In 2025, he was selected as an Artist in Residence at World Art Dubai. He also participates in ART3F and FIABCN. His works convey energy, determination, and resilience, far removed from any naive optimism.
