An ordinary cauliflower becomes something strangely monumental — resembling a human brain, a living organism, or an unknown landscape. The photograph explores the boundary between the familiar and the surreal, transforming a simple everyday object into something mysterious.
The photograph was printed in 2011 on vintage photographic paper that was already almost 50 years old. Its expiration date had passed in the late 1980s, yet after all these years… the image has remained completely unchanged. The paper is unusually thick and deeply matte, producing a soft, delicate image with very little contrast. In a way, the photograph seems to have been created on a material that feels almost timeless — a piece of photographic paper that has survived far beyond its intended lifetime.
