About this artwork
In this work I have merged acrylic and spray to explore semi-abstract, figurative and expressionist expression. Each brushstroke carries raw emotion, while shapes and colors interact to depict a stylized human representation. It is a celebration of expressiveness, an invitation to feel rather than analyze. « I like to represent the movement of the body while playing on sensitive emotional chords. »
Tropel is a French painter who hails from Rouen and has exhibited nationally as well as in Luxembourg and Belgium. His works are oriented towards suggestion and his approach is focused on the language and expression of the body. Inspired by calligraphy, he translates movement, gestures and lines through the deformation of the body, in order to extract ‘the essential’. Tropel works mainly with acrylic paints, as they challenge him to work in a quick and spontaneous manner.
