About this artwork
"Free yourself from all technical and theoretical references to leave the field free to color and spontaneity of the gesture".
"The purpose of my work is to bring into the view of the spectator the life it represents".
"My writing is semi-figurative, stripped of superfluous details"
"My approach is focused on the language and expression of bodies
Touched by calligraphy I like to work on movement, body language, and line ".
"Regardless of… the subject or the lack of subject, the real subject of the painting lies in this relationship between line and color."

« I like to represent the movement of the body while playing on sensitive emotional chords. »
Tropel is a French painter who hails from Rouen and has exhibited nationally as well as in Luxembourg and Belgium. His works are oriented towards suggestion and his approach is focused on the language and expression of the body. Inspired by calligraphy, he translates movement, gestures and lines through the deformation of the body, in order to extract ‘the essential’. Tropel works mainly with acrylic paints, as they challenge him to work in a quick and spontaneous manner.
