About this artwork
With a love of expressionist, gestural mark making, Trudy Montgomery has naturally explored a painterly approach to print making. Initially struggling to capture the dynamic movement of gesture within the static environment of a small scale etching plate, Trudy experimented with sugar-lift aquatint etching techniques in 2014 and 2015. Trudy Montgomery is an experienced British painter who has exhibited her work nationally. She initially worked in the Silicon Valley tech world before moving to San Francisco to embrace her passion for visual art. Now living back in her home country of England, she composes abstract expressionist inner landscapes, exploring themes related to spirituality and the female experience such as the earth's energy, pregnancy and the Divine Feminine. Montgomery's paintings ultimately display calming color combinations and a soulful spirit of self.
