About this artwork
Every emotion has a color it only needs courage to be seen.
Heart in Color is a study in emotional truth an abstract portrait of what it feels like to finally let the inside world pour out. The figure at its center is dissolving, not vanishing becoming part of something larger, freer, and more luminous.
I wanted this piece to feel like a release: the moment when the heart, long muted by pain or restraint, breaks open into light. The storm of color… is not chaos; it is clarity made visible the pure language of feeling when words no longer suffice.
For me, this painting is about the alchemy of emotion how sorrow becomes beauty, and beauty becomes healing.
Uchenna Obinabo-Mabazza, founder of the Mabazza Foundation, is a visual conceptual artist whose work bridges digital creation and classical craftsmanship. Working across mediums, he produces both original oil paintings developed in collaboration with traditional painters and fine-art prints derived from his digital compositions. Drawing from personal experience and universal themes, his art blends sculptural chiaroscuro with expressive color to explore resilience, identity, and healing. Through digital portraiture, hand-painted interpretations, and conceptual works, he creates emotionally resonant pieces marked by quiet intensity and reflective depth. Each piece invites viewers into a space of honesty and restoration, rooted in personal truth and a broader commitment to uplifting others. Through the Mabazza Foundation, his art supports cancer survivors and communities in need, transforming creative expression into a pathway for compassion and connection.
