In the beautiful Schaalsee region lies the tranquil village of Sterley. Almost 20 years ago, she discovered a small steel plate and experimented with how, if, and with what means one could work with this heavy material to create a painterly effect. Without a pen or brush, she drips, pours paint, sands and rubs, applies mass and creates very special works of art. Everything is connected to everything else, and art, in particular, brings this to light and allows emotions to emerge. Each of her works, which she previously also created on paper and canvas, evokes deep emotion and love and appreciation for the master of being, nature. The abstract technique allows for different interpretations, highlighting associations, and finding connections. In her art, Ulea Wesemeyer is concerned with the different perspectives in life, the appreciation of nature and the diversity of human existence, and the mobilization of gratitude for existence.
