Monochrome vs. Polychrome
In this series I show the monochrome versions of my polychrome "showcase window" motifs – thus contrasting two very different facets of the same motif.
What happens when color disappears and only light, shadows, and shades of gray remain? And above all: What colors are actually hidden behind the monochrome image?
This intriguing question is at the heart of the matter: What does the monochrome motif look like in its polychrome… version? What colors lie hidden within the shades of gray, thereby altering the effect of the image?
The special appeal lies in the direct juxtaposition: Monochrome vs. Polychrome – the same motif, seen twice and yet experienced in completely different ways.
The corresponding polychrome version is offered in my series "showcase".
Fine art black and white print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag, with a 1 cm white border all around.
Limited edition, hand-signed and numbered.
