About this artwork
In this bog oak sculpture, seven figures stand together and one above the other. Each touches the other with a gesture of invitation: a hand on the shoulder, fingers gently entwined, a gentle hand placed on the arm. The sculpture addresses the exchange of life stories—it visualizes the moment when we stand close together, open up, and create a sense of belonging through touch.
The rough, dark grain of the bog oak hints at the depth of our memories:… the closer you look, the more layers of shared experience emerge.
