About this artwork
In this picture the artist implements her intensive observations of water, waves and sea in her own technique. The play of the water, the never-ending dance of the waves is the theme of this work and transports the viewer to the shore of the sea. The fresh blue-green colors have a calming and invigorating effect at the same time. If you look closely, you can hear the sound of the waves. This medium-sized work is the ideal picture above the desk.

« Water and cloud landscapes, concrete, and yet, abstract. Places of the longing. »
Ulrike Schmelter is an artist living in Berlin and on the Spanish Mediterranean coast, whose works are exhibited throughout Europe. Her art arises from a fascination with the elemental forces of nature. Water is central to her work—not as a motif, but as a symbol of change, freedom, and vitality. The artist observes water, the sea, and nature intensely and visualizes her sensations in her expressive seascapes, abstract water paintings, and landscapes shaped by water—always without human figures. Schmelter's compositions reveal the beauty of our Earth and its landscapes, elevating water and the sea to the center of all existence, capturing moods and a "fascination with the moment." Her paintings invite viewers to pause, discover ever-new details, and find a personal connection to nature. Her primary medium is acrylic on canvas.
