About this artwork
One summer evening in June, I sat on the trunk of a driftwood root and sketched its outline onto watercolor paper with gray ink. I then added watercolor to these outlines during the painting process. I was fascinated by the expressiveness of the washed-up root and captivated by the perspective. In this evening atmosphere, I painted expressively and quickly, delighting in the power of the ink and the range of creative possibilities offered by the…
small sticks I used as my canvas. The support is 300gsm handmade paper. The painting is signed on the front and framed without a mat. The simple white wooden frame measures 50 x 65 cm.

« I prefer to paint outside. Wind, light, and air can be felt in my pictures. »
My artistic practice is based on direct observation and a deep connection with the natural world. I work primarily with oil and watercolor paints and am drawn to painting outdoors, where the ever-changing qualities of light, atmosphere, and weather become active participants in the creative process. These shifting conditions influence not only the visual character of each work but also its rhythm, energy, and emotional resonance, making each painting a unique response to a specific period within a day.
In addition to plein air painting, I develop works inspired by my own photographs and everyday experiences. Instead of documenting reality, I transform these impressions into compositions that move between abstraction and figuration, exploring the balance between memory, perception, and emotion.
