About this artwork
Part 3 of the trilogy “…heavenly!”
A Gothic window emerges from the darkness, its tracery barely more than a contour, while red and gold break through the glass and spread across the picture plane. The architecture loses its outlines; stone and light interpenetrate until the boundary between them can no longer be drawn. What in “The Cathedral” still bore clear structure and collided with organic growth in “Close to Eternity” returns… here as pure color and embers, an echo of the two preceding images. The space is no longer visible, only its resonance in light, a final fading away that leaves the trilogy open to interpretation.
Fine art print on Hahnemühle Torchon paper, 60 × 80 cm, unframed.
