You may be wondering about the title - here's the short one
story of how it came about. When Vera is working on a new painting, her daughters keep coming to the studio to see what she is working on. When she was working on the picture and asked how they liked it, all three of them immediately asked: Oh, did you paint Silver from the Angry Birds?
Vera Jochum intuitively applies color, layer by layer, until she instinctively arrives at the desired… result. She builds the picture in many layers and wants each painting to tell a story, so each layer of paint adds a new chapter and invites a dialogue with the previous one. The creative process is a balance between intuitive traces on the canvas and careful consideration. Jochum is inspired by the structures and stories that we all encounter every day.
As with all abstract paintings, it is up to the viewer to interpret them.
