Threshold
I rarely work with a fixed motif. I'm more interested in the moment when something becomes visible without being fully explained. During the painting process, layers are created, covered over again, revealed, and reconnected. In this way, the image develops step by step into a place between memory, perception, and imagination.
In *Threshold*, warm, earthy surfaces meet cool turquoise lines. For me, this creates the feeling of a threshold… – a transition between the familiar and the unknown. The suggested form in the center of the image acts like an opening, without clearly defining where it leads. This very ambiguity is important to me. It leaves room for individual thoughts and experiences.
