Yesterday's Newspaper is a mixed media work on canvas. With the works in this series, it was important to me to use as few different colors as necessary for the picture. I've reduced everything here to the essentials. Both the forms and the different textures of the individual areas of the painting still give the work the necessary tension that it must have for the viewer. In the case of "Yesterday's Newspaper", various pieces of paper were glued… into the central area of the image, creating a three-dimensional effect. Due to the way the paint was applied, cracks have appeared in some places around this paper element, which are part of the painting's creative medium. The bold line in black creates the connection between collage element and painting. As with all abstract paintings, interpretation is up to each individual viewer.
