About this artwork
In Fragments, identity is revealed only in part. The portrait withholds the face, offering instead gestures, posture, and surface impressions. What remains hidden becomes as eloquent as what is shown: the curve of the neck, the line of the shoulder, the quiet power of presence and absence. This incomplete view questions how we perceive both ourselves and others, not through totality, but through fragments, impressions, and moments. The drawing celebrates… mystery, suggesting that individuality resides as much in what escapes our eyes as in what we see.
The drawing measures 50 × 70 cm, with an approximate 5 cm margin on each side.
Additional works, series, and editions are visible on her website, offering a broader view of her artistic practice.
Veronica Colanero worked as a fashion designer in Italy and London, an experience that strongly shaped her artistic vision. Today, she is a full-time artist based near Paris, working primarily with graphite, charcoal, and Pierre Noire. Her hyperrealist drawings isolate figures, objects, or fragments, transforming them into poetic studies of beauty, identity, and memory. Whether through a view, a gesture, or an everyday object, her works explore the fine line between surface and depth, appearance and emotion. Blending precision with sensitivity, Veronica creates pieces that feel both intimate and timeless, inviting viewers into a quiet space of reflection and resonance. This selection represents a curated part of her practice. Alongside these originals, Veronica develops other series, limited editions, and fine art prints, continuing her exploration of elegance, memory, and identity — extending her creative universe, with additional pieces visible on her website veronicacolanero.com.
