About this artwork
In this work, I captured the mysterious depths of the night using acrylic paints. The semi-abstract forms and warm hues combine to create a dreamlike space full of energy and emotion. I wanted to show the quiet power and hidden life within the darkness. I was inspired by the text by P. Coelho (The Warrior of Light): Bientôt l'ange réviendra et au simple bruissement de ses ailes, la joie sera de nouveau là.
Veronika Staat-Bachmann uses painting, photography, sculpture and collage, influenced by her intensive studies in Cologne, Stuttgart, Paris and a study stay in Japan. She works with acrylics, mixed media, and reworked paintings, with impasto layers, photographic elements, and associative superimpositions defining her style. Her works encompass series of nature motifs, cathedrals, and chimeras—inviting the viewer to question time and reality, while a magical dialogue between light, nature, and the unconscious radiates poignant longing and awakening hope.
My statement: "Art is the blossoming of nature within man. Art is the language of the soul through man." (Bodenhausen) My wish and goal, after my studies and work as a freelance artist, also in teaching and school management, is now to further develop and present my later work and to offer something positive with my art in these times...
