About this artwork
This work, too, was created after many years of "rest" (I always like to compare this painting process to wine, which has to be stored and matured in a barrel). Similarly, I have many paintings that still need to mature and which, after several years of distance, can finally be painted or reworked.
On New Year's Eve, I reworked this painting with intense blue tones using a combination of acrylic and gouache. The resulting highly textured surface… is important to me, as it enhances the vibrancy and flow of the forms. The thoughts and emotions (about the year 2025, which is drawing to a close) are also reflected here in the movement and tension – it is meant to convey both tranquility and dynamic energy, radiating a kind of mystical atmosphere.
