Copper is one of my favorite creative mediums. I love it for its brilliance, its warmth, and its impressive resistance over time. Indeed, copper has been used for centuries as a support for precious and refined paintings. Many of these works have stood the test of time admirably. In this "DOOOONG," I allowed fine blue lines to appear through the metal leaf as a textured effect. I then lightened it with a light acid to reveal all its light. The work…

Victor Abel, a Canadian artist living in Réunion Island, explores the relationship between material, gesture, and light. His work, rooted in research on colors, shapes, and contrasts, is characterized in particular by the use of metal supports and gold leaf gilding.
