About this artwork
A state when the surge of emotions has already subsided, yet their warm echo still lingers in the body and memory. The figure is painted in muted grey tones, almost like a sculpture, while the surrounding space and clothing are built from dense layers of acrylic and oil. Metallic copper, deep blues and flashes of orange shimmer on the surface like traces of a fading, yet still warm fire.
The abstract marks on her back — strokes, small constellations,… circular vibrations — recall thoughts, memories and conversations that go on long after the moment itself has ended. The contrast between the calm profile and the vivid, textured field around her shows how much continues inside us, even when outwardly we seem perfectly composed.
