About this artwork
"Catching Wind" 2015 was probably one of the first paintings in the wind series, and deeply influenced by Patrick's Watson' s "Backwind". The square paintings are from 2016 to 2018, and are part of the both the “Holding”/’Moulin Rouge” series and the Floribunda series. For example, in the square paintings, the title usually informs what the painting is about, in that the supporting bars coming from the edges are in a dynamic tension of holding…
and pushing/pulling at the central gestural abstracted shape.

« The intent of my work has been for the viewer to “fall in and drown in the work” and see things beyond the surface of the paintings. »
Canadian painter Wayne Boucher has exhibited work in Thailand, Germany, and throughout Canada. Boucher's artistic process is like a dance of paint, movement, and intent. He tries to convey a sense of x-ray vision, a depth of feeling and space inspired by Canada's aboriginal artists. The resulting abstract works are deeply evocative, a thrilling combination of soft dispersed colors contained and facilitated by electrically rendered lines.
