Randomly generated digital painting available as a robotically generated archival oil painting or as a multi-image digital painting series displayed on a flat screen digital wall frame.
Painters have been trying to create paintings using a randomizing strategy for decades. John Cage famously pioneered this technique on the 1950s. Computers and digital image making have made randomizing image mixes easy to do at scale.
I believe a new painting… workflow will change the ways paintings are made going forward. In this brave new world artists will design paintings on software and render the paintings using a robotic painting device. I am one of the earliest adapters of this new workflow.

William Brown is an American photographer who has exhibited in Brazil, Czech Republic, Spain and the United States. Primarily known as a video-artist, he also creates abstract images based on photographic conventions, still photographs, as well as virtual sculptures. A pioneer in the concept of digital techniques he calls “pre-painting”, Brown believes that robots will be capable of creating complex high-resolution art in the near future.
