About this artwork
The artist met the person depicted at Munich Central Station by chance and while walking past. Because he was impressed by his physiognomy as well as his facial expression, he spontaneously asked him if he would be ready for some portrait sessions. After he consented and was now modeled in Wolfgang Eckerts' studio, he revealed a moving and dramatic life story, including of his mental illnesses and associated electroshock therapies. of the plastic had to be done without the portrayed. He belonged to an apparently strict cult community, because after he informed his brothers about the portrait sessions, he was banned from doing so.

Wolfgang Eckert is a sculptor based in Germany whose works have been exhibited both nationally and in France. Fascinated by the connection between plastic-spatial relationships and the human expression that becomes evident in them, his pieces are an "observation of nature and exploration of individuality". In addition, Eckert's pieces are self-reflective and inspired by his memories. His diverse compositions are created using cement and plaster.
