About this artwork
This life-size, figurative sculpture shows a female figure in an averting movement. The figure executes a complex rotating movement that runs through the whole body. Paradoxically, on the one hand, a dynamic, outward-facing force of movement unfolds in the figure, on the other hand, its energy is also directed inward in a dramatic way. The sculpture was modeled in clay in a lengthy work process and then poured into concrete using a "lost mold" made…
of plaster. Since the figure is hollow on the inside, it is not weatherproof and mainly suitable for indoor use. A bronze cast could also be produced, but it would take around 8 weeks to produce.

Wolfgang Eckert is a sculptor based in Germany whose works have been exhibited both nationally and in France.
