About this artwork
The pencil drawings belong to the “Heads” series of works, which currently consists of 50 sheets. The main aim of this series is to depict the expression of human existence through various stroke and line structures as well as surface backgrounds with blurred charcoal or pencil. The artistic approach involves the development of free line structures that approach an emotional depth of human existence in the course of the creative process.
An essential… part of this work is the free invention of graphic structures that, at first glance, do not correlate at all with the physical appearance of human features. Only on a level that invites the viewer to freedom can the coherence of what is depicted be revealed anew.

Wolfgang Eckert is a sculptor based in Germany whose works have been exhibited both nationally and in France. Fascinated by the connection between plastic-spatial relationships and the human expression that becomes evident in them, his pieces are an "observation of nature and exploration of individuality". In addition, Eckert's pieces are self-reflective and inspired by his memories. His diverse compositions are created using cement and plaster.
