About this artwork
Ceramic sculpture with a ashes glaze made by the author, fired in a high temperature reduction atmosphere kiln. This is a part of the artwork “Metaphysical meditations” which consists of three more heads and a 20th century wooden desk. You can see the whole composition in Singulart. Now sculptures can be collected and shipped separately.

Xavier Escala is an experienced sculptor based in Spain whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Italy, Switzerland, Ukraine, and Turkey. Fascinated by the poetic, intellectual, and spiritual part of the sculpture, he continuously searches for the hidden beauty in nature. Escala's figurative pieces are first conceived by sketches and are then carved in stone and wood. His striking classically inspired works are translated through marble, bronze and ceramics.
