About this artwork
This artwork pays tribute to the resilience and transformative strength of the human spirit. Inspired by the hymn O vis eternitatis by Hildegard von Bingen - a 12th-century German nun, mystic, composer, and visionary the piece reinterprets her praise of divine eternal power into a celebration of humanity’s enduring capacity to adapt, endure, and rise through life’s challenges.
Hildegard’s hymn exalts the force that “holds all things in its embrace,”… and here, that force is reflected in the strength within us. The intricate layers, intertwined lines, and textures in this piece echo the complexity and depth of human existence, a visual metaphor for our struggles and triumphs.
«Tribunal Humanitatis» transforms the mystical into the personal, honoring the light and resilience found in every individual. It is both a dialogue with Hildegard’s spiritual legacy and a modern ode to the unyielding power of humanity.

Xenia, a Ukrainian-born artist based in Poland, started her journey in fashion photography, collaborating with fashion houses and agencies in Ukraine and China. Seeking deeper expression, she moved to abstract art, initially experimenting with watercolors. A self-taught artist, she now uses mixed media in a style shaped by Informalism, Deconstructivism, and Abstract Impressionism.
Xenia’s work explores emotions, trauma, identity, and the blurred line between conscious and unconscious. Through layering and subdued colors, often incorporating translucent paper, she adds depth and mystery. Her deconstructed forms mirror the fragmented human experience, inviting viewers into introspection and emotional connection.
