About this artwork
In the old cupboard downstairs, between the ski boots from the 90s and a set of dusty caps, I came across my father's old Maxi Baskets.
At the end of the 80s, the Bad Boys of Detroit, the Pistons of Motor City, led by their star Isiah Thomas, were the main attraction of a rough NBA where defense and bad shots took precedence over show time. A methodology which will bear fruit since they will be crowned NBA champions twice in 89 and 90.
Zagreb is… still part of what a few years later would be called Ex-Yugoslavia and counts among its players the future Croatian Hall of Famers Drazen Petrovic and Toni Kukoc but also the Serbian Vlade Divac. The first European Dream Team already announced a bright future for Balkan players in the big American league.
« My work is marked by my exchanges, travels, and my daily life in the Parisian suburbs, restoring contemporary and imaginary landscapes, borrowed from nostalgia. »
