About this artwork
In Goulet’s 2021 body of work, the idea of what it means to “repair” something is informing his work. Employing techniques acquired from working at an art conservation shop, these layered and textural works reference excavated relics of past mark-making, and the subtle beauty of distressed textures like graffiti walls. By masking the surface of the painting and either intentionally or completely randomly revealing certain areas, interesting juxtapositions…

Zachary Goulet is a prizewinning painter from the United States whose works have been exhibited nationally and are held in permanent collections.
