About this artwork
Created using my original Micopainting technique, this work begins with forest mushrooms as an artistic medium and is later developed in oil on paper mounted on wood.
“Medea” presents a powerful female nude within a contemporary figurative composition with both mythological and psychological resonance. Organic fungal textures become symbolic traces of passion, betrayal, memory, and irreversible choice.
The female figure here is both myth and emotional… state. The layered mixed media technique intensifies the tension between vulnerability and strength, fragility and destructive potential, creating a dramatic atmosphere characteristic of contemporary expressive painting.
Currently exhibited at my solo show in Riga. Available for reservation; shipping after April 4.
