A curation by Marcos Felinto, founder and curator at 3.gallery - Unmasking explores the paradox of the mask as an instrument of both concealment and revelation. From Venetian Carnival to rituals and contemporary representations, wearing a mask can offer the freedom of anonymity. Yet, by hiding the face, intentions, desires, fears, aversions, and the need for protection may emerge. Through different artistic languages and expressions, this curation reveals how the mask, precisely by concealing, can also become a powerful form of unmasking.
