A curation by Jessica L, Head of Exhibitions at - Marie Casaÿs comes from a background in drawing and graphic design, and that precision is central to her work. She mainly uses colored pencil on paper, building her images slowly through layers and subtle transitions.
Her focus is often the human body, approached with a mix of sensitivity and clarity. There’s a strong attention to detail, especially in the way she handles color and gradients, which gives the work a very controlled but still expressive quality.
The images feel intimate without being overwhelming. They invite you to look closely, to notice the small shifts in tone and form. It’s a quiet but very deliberate practice.
