About this artwork
"Blue Sisters" is an illustration made with colored pencils (Faber Castell polychromos) on 200g/m2 paper, 30x40cm format. The work is inspired by a photograph by @mieltoutesfleurs with the models @suzycurlves @whoissabine @queenpotiche @yaelayz @_.nashac each represented in a shade of blue. In this drawing, I wanted to celebrate the beauty and diversity of five black women, in shades of timeless, unique, deep, stable and soothing blue. Each silhouette…
expresses her identity, her charisma and her pride. The voluptuousness and complicity of the bodies echo the sisterhood of these women, inviting support for a group but also self-acceptance.
