A curation by Giulia Falcone, Founder & Director || Curator • Advisor • Critic • Mentor at ARTOVERPASS - Before a face becomes recognizable, there is a moment of suspension. A fragment of time in which form is still fluid, and perception shifts like an uncertain breath between presence and possibility. Before Recognition explores this fragile threshold: the moment in which identity is not yet defined, but already announces itself. Images seem to emerge from an intermediate state, as if matter were seeking its own consciousness before offering itself to the gaze. In that moment, all boundaries dissolve: the visible and the invisible coexist, and what is born does not yet belong to the world, but to the desire to appear. Recognition always means rediscovering something that was already there—a face that was watching us before we learned to see it.
