A curation by Juliana Angulo, Art Historian, Curator, and Advisor at FAREX & Singulart - Taking inspiration from the International Museum Day celebrated yearly on May 18th, this selection of 15 paintings evokes the role of these institutions as carriers of culture, knowledge, and history. They offer diverse perspectives demonstrating the versatility of figuration while allowing contemporary visions to emerge. Museum visitors, framed artworks and gallery interiors are depicted through contrasting palettes and distinct visual languages ranging from expressive to minimal, realistic or graphic aesthetics. While some pieces appear contemplative, others incorporate surreal motifs or digital elements, adding symbolic layers to the compositions. Ultimately, this collection presents museums through color and emotion, reflecting on their capacity to promote creativity and imagination.
