A curation by Sarah Melloul, Curator at Independent - "Vague Memories" is a selection that takes memory as its starting point, a shifting and persistent material circulating between the present and the past. These different works explore the way in which contemporary creation can give form to personal reminiscences, collective narratives and ancestral motifs that weave our memories. Through the selected works, matter becomes a language to express the invisible. The artists mobilize various mediums (wood, clay, collages, oil, chalk, etc.) to translate personal or collective experiences, representing pictorial memories or amnesiac fogs.
