About this artwork
In this small format on paper from the MÉMOIRE DU GIVRE series, which includes eleven pieces, I wanted to capture the mysterious and shifting essence of movement and light, knowing, as Georges Braque says, that the light of painting is not the light of the solar spectrum, but something stranger and more poetic, nestled in the heart of the sensitive chaos in which we live. The mixture of oil and gouache creates deep textures, where enveloping blacks…
meet touches of bright yellow, like a fragile light piercing the darkness.
