A curation by Giulia Falcone, Art Expert || • Curator • Senior Advisor • Critic • Mentor at International Galleries and Institutions - Every surface is only apparently a boundary. In reality, it absorbs, retains, responds. It is skin, a sensitive membrane, a place where matter meets perception. What we see is never merely visual: it is experience, contact, listening.
What the Surface Knows collects works in which the surface behaves like a sentient organism. The textures, cracks, and irregularities speak of the life that moves just beneath—a presence that surfaces, recedes, and then reemerges in other forms.
In these works, the skin of matter becomes knowledge: a silent but perceptive knowledge, which cannot be explained but is felt.
