About this artwork
Women role models have always been revolutionary. They are women that have changed the world they live in, steering it in a direction of betterment. Maria Theresia was such a woman. An Austrian empress, she was meant to be a figurehead for lack of a male heir. She did not agree with this arrangement, however, actively ruling her empire for 40 years and instating innumerable reforms while bearing 16 children. It took courage and resolution to address… the issues of her time. The issues may be different today, but we need no less courage to solve them. Women need to be championing these issues — we need role models and revolutionaries today just as much as ever. Adrienne Egger’s bold, narrative-driven paintings explore transformation—where strength meets vulnerability, control meets surrender. Blending surrealism, impressionism, and expressionism, she crafts immersive storyscapes of emotion, memory, and possibility. Born in the Rocky Mountains and now in the Austrian Alps, her unconventional upbringing fuels a fascination with life’s contradictions. Her work holds space for reflection and affirms the full spectrum of being, reclaiming complexity as quiet strength. With collectors from Hong Kong to New York and features in luxury publications and auction houses, Adrienne also founded UNARTIG – Avantgarde Art Salon, curating immersive interdisciplinary experiences that foster art, culture, and community. Through Graceland, her nonprofit, she supports transformation at life’s pivotal moments. Her practice spans painting, design, fashion, and coaching, each a thread in her mission to turn life’s raw materials into beauty and insight.
